Get the installer, naevik-setup-<version>.exe, from
naevik.ai/download. Naevik Personal is free — there is no
license key and no account.
Some browsers flag new downloads as “not commonly downloaded”. In Microsoft Edge, open the downloads list, choose … → Keep, then Keep anyway.
Double-click naevik-setup-<version>.exe. Windows may show a blue
“Windows protected your PC” screen from Microsoft Defender
SmartScreen:
Approve the Windows User Account Control prompt. Installation takes about a minute and normally needs no restart.
Naevik starts when you sign in and lives in the system tray. Open it to see the AI agents it is watching, and add rules for what they may run, read and connect to.
Naevik checks for updates itself. When one is ready, the app shows a banner; click it and approve the User Account Control prompt. Downloads are verified (SHA-256 and the SensiSec signature) before anything is installed.
Naevik watches process launches, file access and network connections — the same places security tools watch — so an antivirus or EDR product may occasionally flag it. If yours blocks or quarantines a Naevik file, email hello@naevik.ai with the product name and the detection name it shows, and we will report the false positive to the vendor.
Open Settings → Apps → Installed apps, find Naevik, and choose Uninstall. The app, the service and the drivers are all removed.
Agents that run inside a WSL2 distro need the Naevik Linux agent in that distro. See WSL2 coverage.
