System requirements
- macOS 13 (Ventura) or later, on Apple silicon (M1 or later). Intel Macs are not supported, and the installer will not run on one.
- Your Mac password. Naevik installs two macOS system extensions, and macOS asks for your password to approve them.
1. Download
Get the installer, naevik-personal-<version>.pkg, from
naevik.ai/download. Naevik Personal is free — there is no
license key and no account.
Signed and notarized. Naevik for macOS is signed with SensiSec Pty Ltd’s
Apple Developer ID and notarized by Apple, so macOS opens it without warnings.
2. Run the installer
Open the downloaded .pkg and follow the macOS Installer. When it finishes,
Naevik appears in the menu bar.
3. Approve Naevik in macOS
Open Naevik from the menu bar and follow its setup steps. Each one is a macOS permission
that only you can grant:
-
System extension. Click Activate. macOS asks you to
allow the extension in System Settings → Privacy & Security; click
Allow and enter your password.
-
Network filter. When macOS asks whether Naevik may filter network
content, click Allow.
-
Full Disk Access. Click Open Full Disk Access and switch
on Naevik Endpoint Security.
Missed a prompt? Naevik shows what is still waiting for approval, with a
button that opens System Settings.
4. Set your rules
Open Naevik from the menu bar and choose what your AI agents may run, read and connect to.
What gets installed
- The Naevik app in
/Applications, with a menu-bar icon.
- Two macOS system extensions that Naevik activates — Endpoint Security for process and file control, and a network filter for network control.
- The
naevik command-line tool.
- Your policy and events stay on your Mac. Naevik checks for updates once a day and sends an install count; you can turn either off. See the privacy policy.
Updates
Naevik tells you when an update is ready, with a banner in the menu. Each update is checked
against SensiSec’s Apple Developer ID signature and a SHA-256 hash before it is
installed.
Uninstall
Quit Naevik, then drag it from Applications to the Trash.
macOS removes its system extensions; you may be asked for your password.
